Just recovered from sickness (flu). Had been sick for about 2 weeks with some funny allergy and flu. Not particularly very happy either last weekend, but I guess I’m much better now. Life has been so busy lately with datelines to meet, I dun have much time for any much leisure other then sleeping (which is neccessary unfortunately). Hope I can finish up my homework(x2) by next week… how is everyone else doing with study/work/life? Sorry not been able to catch up with anyone much online. I guess i’ll kacheow you all after my homeverk is finished. Goodnite!

Anyone who glances at my desktop PC at home would think it belongs to a 5 year old.

Some people are asking where I got the mod for the windows skins. They’re actually from ‘www.crystalxp.net’. You can download the mods there… plus a whole lot of other crap to screw up your windows. Do not blame me if your windows dies… and do not ask me to help you fix it either. =o)

Finally done with both assignments for the 2 modules… but those are only the first out of 3 =( The due date for the next ones are at the end of the month! Have to really buck up as i have probably already fallen quite far behind on the study schedule. They are probably covering like chapter 7 and i’m not even reading chapter 4 yet …

In my line of work I see some really rich people… some of whom probably worked their way up there, and some of them were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. You can notice the character differences between both kinds. Those who worked their way up there tend to be more down to earth, friendly, happier and polite. Those choking on their silver spoons are just stuck up egoistic anal-retentive asswipes. They just need to realize they’re no better then the average cleaner wiping the desks in the mornings. They were just born into a well to do family, or had been given big oppurtunities in life. How I wish I could take the damn spoon and stuff it up their anus.

You know your brains are rusty when you get tension headaches from studying. Mabbe the eye strain from reading adds to it too… Anyways thought i’d take a break now and put up some crap for thought here.

Grumpy old farts
Ok, this is a generalization. Basically I think most of us would have come across some ‘older’ folks (40s - 50s) who fall into this category of - grumpy old farts. They are typically eccentric middle aged people who impose their values or knowledge on others, because they simply believe they are more ‘experienced’. Familiar yes? You’d prolly come across folks like these at your work or some public places.

General characteristics of GOFs:
- They believe they are always right
- Imposing their values and experience on others
- Emotionally insensitive
- Overly zealous on specific topics (e.g. morals, finance, politics, status)
- Once they start talking (or complaining), it’s hard to get them to stop
- Inflated ego

The question I’d like to ask is - how did these people become GOFs?
Were they just born that way? Is it because of age? Maybe the they grew up in an environment that somehow stunted their EQ?

Most importantly. I just hope I don’t become one when I grow older.
Things I should take note of to prevent that:

- Keep check on ego
- Willingness to admit to own faults and limitations
- Willingness to learn new things (even from much younger people)
- Keeping an open mind
- Keep negative comments to myself

If I should ever start becoming one. Feel free to kick me in the arse as a reminder. Thanks! ;)
